Appeal for witnesses following sexual assault Bangor

North Wales Police detectives in Bangor are looking for your
help identify a man who attacked a woman who was walking along
Ffiddoedd Road, Upper Bangor during the early hours of Thursday
9th August 2012.
Senior Investigating officer DI Gareth Evans
said “Shortly after 2.00am on Thursday 9th August a 19
year old woman was walking along Ffriddoedd Road and when she got
to the junction of Trem Elidir she was approached by a man and
subjected to a very distressing sexual assault.
“Her attacker is described as being about 5’10
tall and appeared overweight with a large stomach. He wore a
black balaclava over his face, a dark sports/shell type jacket and
knee length shorts. Following the attack he made off in the
direction of Belmont Road”
The victim is being supported by specially
trained Police Officers.
DI Evans is keen to hear from anyone in the
area at the time who may have seen the suspect or other suspicious
activity or anyone who may know the identity of the offender.
He concluded “Offences of this nature are fortunately very rare in
this area however this particular incident has left one young woman
very distressed and feeling vulnerable. On her behalf I would
appeal to any person in the community who has any information to
come forward and help us apprehend this person as soon as
possible"
