Appeal to trace missing 32-year-old
05/01/2012
Police are becoming extremely concerned for
the safety and whereabouts of a 32-year-old man who is missing.
Michael Murphy, who is from Mold, was last
seen leaving his place of work on the Deeside Industrial Estate at
approximately 06.00am yesterday, Wednesday, January 4.
Michael, who is described as white, 5ft 10’
tall, of medium build with short fair hair which is balding, has
not been seen since. Neither has he made contact with his family or
friends.
It is unclear as to what Michael was wearing
at the time he went missing.
His vehicle, a red coloured Volkswagen Polo
registration number S412 RTG was recovered from the Westbound
carriageway of the new bridge which leads from the Deeside
Industrial Estate to Flint before the 32-year-old was reported
missing. The vehicle was recovered at 2pm yesterday following a
call from a member of the public.
Detective Inspector Alun Oldfield said: “I
appeal to anyone who has seen Michael or who knows of his
whereabouts to contact police immediately. I particularly urge
anyone who left the Deeside Industrial Estate or who was travelling
into work yesterday to think back and to contact us immediately if
they recall seeing the red coloured car, if they recall seeing
anyone leaving the car or walking near or on the bridge.”
He added: “Inquiries are already well underway
and extensive searches are being conducted of the river embankments
involving North Wales Police officers, the helicopter from the
North West Air Operations Unit, the Coastguard, RNLI, the Search
and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) and the regional Police
Underwater Search Team. River conditions have not been favourable
for searching but the water area is being searched today in spite
of the adverse weather conditions.”
Anyone with information or who may know of
there whereabouts of the 32-year-old man is urged to contact North
Wales Police on 101 (if in Wales) or 0300 3300 101.
