Copper Theft Porthmadog

North Wales police are appealing for
information following the theft of fixed copper piping from the
exterior walls of 13 properties at Cerrig yr Afon, Porthmadog.
It is believed the thefts occurred during the early hours of
Saturday 17th November 2012.
Investigating officer PC Ian Roberts at
Porthmadog said "This was a very brazen crime with thieves going
from one property to another on the small estate. The copper
piping was connected to the gas boilers and several metres of
piping was stolen.”
Cerrig year Afon is situated in the heart
of Porthmadog between Snowdon Street and Church Street.
Repairing the damage caused will cause inconvenience to the
victims as well as the cost of repairs running into hundred of
pounds.
PC Roberts concluded "I am particularly
eager to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting
suspiciously around the residential area early Saturday morning and
particularly details of any vehicles in the area at the same time.
I would also like to hear from any residents who may have
private CCTV fitted to their homes or in-fact anyone who has any
information about this crime.
