North Wales police are appealing for information following the theft of fixed copper piping from the exterior walls of 13 properties at Cerrig yr Afon, Porthmadog.  It is believed the thefts occurred during the early hours of Saturday 17th November 2012.

Investigating officer PC Ian Roberts at Porthmadog said "This was a very brazen crime with thieves going from one property to another on the small estate.  The copper piping was connected to the gas boilers and several metres of piping was stolen.”

Cerrig year Afon is situated in the heart of Porthmadog between Snowdon Street and Church Street.  Repairing the damage caused will cause inconvenience to the victims as well as the cost of repairs running into hundred of pounds.

PC Roberts concluded "I am particularly eager to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously around the residential area early Saturday morning and particularly details of any vehicles in the area at the same time.  I would also like to hear from any residents who may have private CCTV fitted to their homes or in-fact anyone who has any information about this crime.
