Fatal Road Traffic Collision Beaumariscrimestoppers logo


At approximately 12noon today, Wednesday 8th May 2013, North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision on the A 545 in Beaumaris, Anglesey, known locally as ‘the front’,  involving a red Citroen motor vehicle and a stationary silver VW Golf and waste disposal skip. 


As a result of the collision the male occupant of the Citroen received fatal injuries and died at the scene.  The vehicle’s passenger, a woman, was conveyed by ambulance to hospital with serious life threatening injuries.   Both are understood to be local to the island but are yet to be formally identified. 


Emergency vehicles are still at the scene and are likely to be for some time.   The ‘front’ in Beaumaris has been closed and locals asked to seek alternative routes. 


The officer leading the investigation Inspector Martin Best of the Roads Policing Unit said  “A full investigation will now take place and so I’d like to hear from anyone who was driving or walking through Beaumaris around noon today (Wednesday 8th May 2013) and witnessed the collision to contact the Police on 101.” 


North Wales Police are asking any person who witnessed the collision, or who may have information to assist this investigation to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Llandegai on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
