Police investigate burglary at residential home
15/06/2012
North Wales Police investigating a burglary at
Dolwar Residential Home in Llanbedrog near Pwllheli are looking for
your help to track down and arrest those responsible.
The Home was broken into sometime between 2.00am and 3.00am on
Thursday 14th June 2012 when thieves entered an office
and removed a safe containing jewellery and bank documents
belonging to some of the residents.
“The safe was removed from the property so it
is highly likely thieves used a vehicle” said Investigating Officer
PC Andy Vowell of Abersoch Police Station. He went onto say
“From initial enquiries I believe the thieves drove to the
near by village of Myntho as we have recovered a good deal of
property that was in the safe from close to the village
school. From there the thieves travelled a further 5 miles to
Bwlchtocyn from where we later recovered the actual safe”
Bank cards stolen from the burglary were used
just before 5.00am that same morning in Tesco’s Caernarfon and
North Wales Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw any
suspicious people and vehicles in any of the locations between 2.00
am and 5.00am.
PC Vowell added “This was a particularly
disturbing incident as it has affected a number of elderly and
vulnerable people. One lady in particular who has just
celebrated her 104th birthday is very distressed at the
loss of her jewellery and so I’d appeal to anyone who has any
information to contact Police and help us reassure all the
residents of this local residential home”
If any person has information they are asked
to contact North Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via
Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
