Renewed appeal for city centre assault in Bangor
15/01/2013
As part of a renewed appeal into a city centre assault North
Wales Police have now released an EVOFIT and CCTV stills of the
offender in the hope he may be identified and arrested.
The
incident occurred as the 18 year old victim, a local student,
was walking home from Peep Nightclub in Bangor during the
early hours of Friday 28th September 2012.
PC Helen Andrews at Bangor Police Station said
“Shortly after 2.00am on Friday 28th September an 18
year old student was walking with two of his friends towards the
clock in the town centre when he was set upon and subjected to a
totally unprovoked assault and tirade of verbal obscenities.
The attack happened outside the Subway fast food outlet and
I’m sure it will have been witnessed.
“Thus far we have been unable to identify any
witnesses but I am hoping the release of the EVOFIT and CCTV still
may jog someone’s memory and help us identify the assailant.
“He is described as aged in his early 20s, 6'
tall, white with short dark hair combed to the right and of
muscular build. He was wearing a dark tee shirt and dark
coloured trousers and had a local accent.”
PC Andrews concluded, “This was an unprovoked
attack on a young man who was fortunately his injuries were not
more serious. If you recognise the offender or have any
information which may assist this investigation I’d urge you
contact Police straight away”
