20/06/2012

North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have teamed up with Plas Pawb who have organised a Community Safety Week and will be holding  a day of fun and learning this Friday 22nd June 2012 at Plas Pawb in Maesincla, Caernarfon.  The event will run between 3pm and 5pm and in addition to raising awareness for Child Safety will also host a number of fun activities to engage the whole family.

Local PCSO Richard Pepper, North Wales Police who helped organise the day said “ The local school liaison officer will be providing very informative help on internet safety and awareness of drug and alcohol issues but there will be plenty of other less serious things to get involved with.  The Fire Service and several of my colleagues will also be attending on the day together with The Bear Mascot, Bobbi Car, a bouncy castle and Arts and Crafts.”

“Work permitting the Dog Section and Roads Policing will also attend and they’ll be plenty of competitions, quizzes and colouring books for the younger kids.  It’s also a great way of kids and their parents meeting in an informal and fun atmosphere their local Police and Fire Service and get some sound advice on sun safety, safe play and first aide”.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service will demonstrate their car seat safety, home safety checks and their Subaru Impreza Fire Safety Car.

PCSO Pepper concluded “This is a great opportunity to raise general all round safety awareness in the community making it a safer place for us all to live, work and visit.
