North Wales Police have been granted a further
36 hours to question a 57 year old Warrington man in
connection with the death of a woman also from the town.
He was arrested on suspicion of murder and
remains in custody at St Asaph
after attending a police
building on the St Asaph business park on Wednesday
evening 18 July 2012.
The body of a
49 year old woman, who was known to the suspect, was discovered in
a car outside the building.
A joint investigation is being carried out by North Wales Police
and Cheshire Police.
DCI Steve Williams of North Wales Police said;
“This afternoon Prestatyn Magistrates Court granted police a
further 36 hours detention time to interview the suspect.
“A post mortem has been carried out by a Home
Office pathologist in Liverpool and we can confirm that this case
is being investigated as a homicide.
“The family has been informed and is being
supported by specially trained officers of Cheshire Police.”
