An appeal for witnesses and information is being made following a robbery at a newsagents in Connah’s Quay.

At 5.14pm yesterday (Sunday, November 30) police received a report that a man armed with a knife had entered the Red Hall Newsagents on Englefield Avenue. The man demanded cash from the till and made away with a small amount. He is believed to have fled from the shop towards Bryn Road.

 The offender is described as being between 5ft9’ and 6ft, was wearing a balaclava, a light sweat shirt with dark blue stripes and dark bottoms.

No one was injured in the incident but the shop assistant was left shocked.

Police inquires are underway and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the vicinity of the newsagents at the time to contact officers at Mold CID. Similarly, officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information regarding the offence to contact detectives on 0845 6071001 (Welsh language line) or 0845 6071002 (English language line) or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
