Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)

Police Community Support Officers work alongside Police Officers, and are a visible presence in the community.

Police Community Support Officers complement and support the regular officers in the work that they do and play a vital role in addressing the needs and concerns of the local community.

Special Constables

The Special Constabulary consists of volunteer officers, who give up their time freely to assist with the policing of North Wales Police.

As a Special Constable you will work alongside regular officers, and will be expected to commit to 4 hours service a week. Being a Special Constable is a great way to give something back to your community, develop new skills or learn what being a police officer is really like. As a Special Constable you will be given training and a uniform, and have all the powers and authority of regular officers.

Police Staff

Police staff play a vital role within North Wales Police.

The roles are diverse, from Human Resource Officers to Crime Scene Investigators. All roles assist the force in achieiving its aims and ensuring that North Wales Police is a safe place to live.

Volunteer Cadets

Becoming a North Wales Police Volunteer Cadet is a great way to develop valuable skills, meet new friends and gain an insight into a varied and challenging career with North Wales Police.

You can join the scheme at age sixteen and will follow a voluntary programme lasting two years. The programme consists of weekly training sessions at a local police station, assisting Neighbourhood Policing Teams at community events during holidays and weekends, as well as taking part in a host of team building activities.

Community Volunteers

Police Volunteers are members of the community who give their time freely to undertake additional duties and activities to those currently performed by the extended policing family, adding great value to services already provided.

We are looking for people aged 16 upwards from a wide range of backgrounds and sections of the community.

Transferee Opportunities – Police Constables

If you have successfully completed your probationary period in your current force you may be eligible to transfer to North Wales Police.
