Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a robbery occurred at a restaurant car park in Ruthin on Friday evening.
At approx. 5pm on Friday, 2nd of January, a man was unloading items from his car which was situated in the rear car park of the Panda Garden Chinese Restaurant on Record Street.
He then noticed three men get out a dark coloured vehicle which was also parked in the car park.
One of the men then approached him and grabbed hold of him from behind. He was then pushed into the back seat of his car where he felt a sharp object pressing into his back.
The offender then started rummaging through bags which were situated on the back seat and attempted to take a holdall. The victim resisted and managed to hold on to the holdall which contained his personal belongings. The offender then grabbed another bag which contained some cigarettes and biscuits.
All three men then left in the dark coloured vehicle with its wheels spinning. This vehicle was seen turning right onto Record Street.
The 49-year-old victim was not injured during the incident.
Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the vicinity – in particular they want to speak to two women who were seen walking along Record Street at that time - to come forward.
Anyone who may have information is asked to contact PC 1417 Michael Butlin at Ruthin Police Station on 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line) 0845 607 1002 (English line) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
