At around 9.45pm on the 26th May 2008 police were called to an address in the Buckley area to reports of a domestic incident.

Shortly before police arrived there was a loud explosion in the garden at the address. It is believed that the explosion was caused by a gas canister in the garden shed.

A 38-year old man remains in hospital with burn injuries which are described as serious but not life threatening. A woman from the address also received hospital treatment, but has since been discharged.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward and anyone with information is asked to contact local officers on 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line) or 0845 607 1002 (English line).

Officers are not looking for any other persons in relation to this incident.
