Summary of Issue:
We have received a number of Complaints of Anti Socil Behaviour and Criminal Damage in the surrounding area of kendal road park and the Alley way between Trem Elwy and Trem y Ffair. This issue has been raised in previous years and as such this Action Plan has been raised to try and address that behaviour and make the area a better place for all.
Updates:
This plan was created on 05/03/2010. Please check back regularly for updates. 09/04/2010 - Following a number of operations in the area, the amount of calls in relation to this area have decreased. However we are aware that there are still problems. I am looking at the option of Alley gates in the area and have now got the support from all the residents surrounding the Alley. Roli Schwartz from denbighshire council is looking into the options for that. I wil update once i have heard from him. UPDATE 25/05/2010 - SO FAR THERE IS STILL NO UPDATE AVAILABLE FROM ROLI SCHWARZ. HOWVER FROM A POLICE POINT THE PROBLEMS DO APPEARED TO HAVE DECREASED SINCE MY LAST UPDATE. FOLLOWING A NUMBER OF OPERATIONS AND HIGH VIZ FOOT PATROL WE HAVE HAD NO NEW COMPLAINTS. THIS DOESN'T MEANT THAT I WILL STOP THE PROCESS WITH THE ALLEY GATES AS THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO COME AND GO AND HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. I WILL UPDATE YOU AGAIN IN A FEW WEEKS WITH REGARDS TO THE ALLEY GATES. 29/06/2010 - We await the update on alleygating orders from local authority, some minor problems exsist and will continue to be tackled robustly. local youths still gather in the area and cause problems for persons within their own community. This again will continued to be addressed by the Policng team for the area. 17/08/2010 - Foot and Mobile patrols still being conducted in the area, no issues of late. With regards to the Alley gates, this is being addressed by Roli Schwatrz in the next application window. 08/09/2010 - The month of August was quiet in the area. We recieved no complaints from residents in realtion to ASB in the area. However we did issue 4 yellow cards on a neighbouring street for a ASB related issue. Still no update from Roli Schwarz in realtion to the Alley Gates. Keep checking back for updates. 14/03/2011..The issue here is still evident with the number of calls continuing. We have been trying to get funiding for the Alley gating but have so far not been successful. However the local Community Council have now got involved in trying to get the funding. I will update over the next couple of weeks with the result...01/04/2011...PCSO SABRINA ILLMAN-EDWARDS AND PC STEVE THOMAS ATTENDED THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETIMG ON WEDNESDAY 30TH MARCH AND WITH THE HELP OF CLLR JOHN BEVAN THE ALLEY GATING IS NOW GOING TO BE FUNDED INITIALLY BY THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL. THE INITIAL CONSULTATION WILL BE HELP SHORTLY AND ALL BEING WELL THE ALLEY GATING WILL GO UP IN AROUND 8-11 WEEKS. C2928 Jones 13/01/2012 foot and mobile patrols still being conducted in the area. No issues............ 21/03/2012 - Over the last few weeks we have noticed an increase in ASB in the Bowling green next to the Park, we have young people gathering in the bowling green and drinking alcohol and meaking a mess when they leave. Although we are receiving very few calls from members of the public in relation to the youths being in the green the rubbish and smashed alcohol bottles everywhere states that there is an issue here. We have a number of actions in the pipeline to combat this and will be working with the local council and the bowling club members to stop this from happening again.
