Summary of Issue:
Local youths are using the Castle as a drinking den for alcohol leaving their empty bottles and cans also being rowdy. The Castle is a non alcohol zone it is an offence to consume alcohol at the Castle and carries a £50 fine.
Updates:
This plan was created on 12/10/2009. Please check back regularly for updates. 13/10/2009 by PCSO2540 - High visibility patrols are still being made in the area. A meeting with Police, local councillors and CADW is to be arranged. Signage for the non alcohol zone is in the process. PC 2321 - Foot patrols carried out on following dates around Castle and Estuary area: 02/10/09, 24/10/09/ 28/10/09 and 31/10/09. During these dates nobody seen in or around castle area. Regular foot patrols are being conducted in the Castle area. We have seen a reduction in reports of ASB. We have targeted groups who have been consuming alcohol in the location and an amount of alcohol has been seized. Patrols to continue in this area. Patrol around the Castle area are continuing. There are not many people who drink on the castle grounds at the moment. However as the lighter nigths and warmer weather is upon us the instances of public drinking may increase. Increased hi visability patrols will be conducted in the area.
