Summary of Issue:
The run up to the festive period is one that often gifts potential thieves a golden opportunity to engage in thefts from both vehicles and persons. In light of this the Neighbourhood Policing team here on Anglesey have launched their Christmas Crime Prevention initiative .The initiative is two fold the first being to hold crime prevention days at various locations around the Island. The second part of the initiative is to hand out purse dipping bells following the success of this initiative last year and car Air Fresheners with a reminder both to car drivers and potential thieves that nothing of value is kept in the vehicle .
Updates:
WE DID- Due to increased opportunities for thieves over the Christmas period as a result of many shoppers leaving their belongings on show in their vehicles and becoming less vigilant about personal security in relation to their belongings, the Anglesey Neighbourhood Policing Team have launched the annual Christmas Crime Prevention Initiative. We will be holding crime prevention days at various locations around the island during the run up to Christmas. These crime prevention days will include input from both the North Wales Fire Service and North Wales Police. Our Neighbourhood Policing Officers will be distributing purse dipping bells and car air fresheners, raising awareness of pick pockets and thieves this time of year. We will also have Balance your Bobbies forms for members of the public to fill out to highlight any other issues that we may be able to assist with. Christmas Crime Prevention days will be held at the following: November 30th - Argos Car Park, Holyhead - 10am - 3pm December 5th - Co- op Car Park, Amlwch - 10am - 3pm December 8th - Llangefni Market – 10am- 3pm December 9th - Waitrose Car Park, Menai Bridge – 10am - 3pm If anyone has any information regarding individuals acting suspiciously in and around Car Parks and retail establishments or have information in regards to those responsible for thefts from Motor Vehicles then please contact a member of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team as follows: PCSO 2949 ROBERTS (07854329162:) or Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 or alternatively contact North Wales Police Control Room on ‘101’.
