Prestatyn and Meliden NPT – Halloween / Bonfire Night Bowling
On Monday 26th October 2009 Pc 2563 Ben Edwards, Pcso Mike Rowley of the
Prestatyn Neighbourhood Police Team and Jonathan White manager of the POP IN centre, Meliden Road, Prestatyn arranged for 10 local teenagers to attend a presentation on the subject of arson. This was in response to a number of minor but deliberate fires started in bins in the local area recently and was designed at educating people on the dangers of fire and the impact that it has on the police and fire service by possibly preventing them attending life threatening incidents. The presentation was given by members of the North Wales Arson Reduction team and was really well received by all who attended.
Following the completion of the presentation the attendees were taken to the Ffrith Beach where they had an afternoons bowling followed by food courtesy of funding kindly provided by PACT and the Ffrith Beach owner Noah Robinson who will be donating the profits to the NSPCC.
The outing was a great opportunity to engage with local youth and distract them away from the temptations of Anti Social behaviour over the Halloween and Bonfire Night periods.
