Prestatyn East Ward Residents Street Meet / Smartwater Kits

On the afternoon of Thursday 28th January, PC 2503 Richard Evans, CBM for Prestatyn East Ward and PCSO Suzanne Wharton accompanied Housing Estate Officer John Makinson of Denbighshire County Council to conduct a mobile surgery for residents of the council flats on Caradoc Road, Prestatyn. The aim of the afternoon was to canvass residents opinions and identify any ongoing issues which could be resolved by Prestatyn Neighbourhood Policing Team and / or Denbighshire Housing Services.

It was also an ideal opportunity to dispense some crime prevention advice to the residents and give out some SMARTWATER Kits to residents. We arranged to assist the residents with marking up and then registering their property with SMARTWATER to ensure that if items are ever lost or stolen and subsequently recovered, it can be reunited with its rightful owner.

The afternoon was a great success with residents welcoming the visit from the local officers and Housing Services. On the whole, there were very few complaints from the residents. Some incidents of anti-social behaviour around the Christmas holidays were raised however these have since been addressed with the issuing of Yellow Cards.

This was an ideal opportunity for many elderly and immobile residents, who aren't able to attend Community Meetings or don't have access to the forums on the North Wales Police website, to have access to their local Neighbourhood Policing Team to raise any concerns or issues.

Pictures are attached (hope they are ok) and show Housing Estate Officer John Makinson and PCSO Suzanne Wharton handing out a SMARTWATER KIT to local residents Mr and Mrs Braund.

Many Thanks

Richard PC 2503 Evans
