10-year-old child seriously hurt after car failed to stop

Police are hunting the driver of a vehicle, which failed to stop after a collision in Saltney this afternoon, Sunday 6th January, as a result of which a child has sustained serious injuries.

The child has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.  

The collision happened on Park Avenue in Saltney at 4.19pm, when a grey Ford Fiesta collided with the boy and failed to stop. The vehicle has been located and will be forensically examined.

Enquires are underway, and officers investigating are extremely keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have information regarding the incident.

Park Avenue is expected to remain closed for some time.
