Advice to caravan owners
Wednesday 13 Dec 2017
As the winter is upon us North Wales Police are reminding caravan owners of the simple steps which can be taken to reduce the chances of becoming a victim of crime.
The advice comes after a number of static caravans have been broken into the Conwy and Denbighshire areas over the past three months and items including televisions, solar lights and other electronic equipment have been stolen.
Sgt James Keene said: “We are taking this opportunity to remind caravan owners to take quick and easy steps to ensure their property is secure through the winter months.”
“Please ensure all doors and windows are locked. Always take all valuables including the TV, DVD player and electrical items out of the caravan and consider security marking all your personal items.”
“We recommend that curtains, blinds and/or nets are left open as well as cupboards and wardrobes. This may go against your instincts but it will show there’s nothing of value hidden away.”
