Appeal following a serious collision in Colwyn Bay

A taxi driver has sustained serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Colwyn Bay shortly before midnight last night (Tuesday, November 6th).

At 23:42 police were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the junction of Oak Drive and Kings Road involving a Black Hyundai and a Black Citroen.

The taxi driver, who was in the Citroen, was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by ambulance with serious injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai left the scene, however, following police enquiries she was later traced nearby and was arrested.

The 25-year-old local woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to report and providing a positive breath test. She remains in police custody at this time.
