Force celebrates International Women's Day

Tomorrow (March 8th) is International Women’s Day and it is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call for action to accelerate gender balance globally.

We will be promoting some of our female officers and staff via our social media pages – from Superintendent, to PC, from Corporate Communications to the Force Physical Training Instructor – we have many females doing a variety of roles within North Wales Police.

Chief Constable Carl Foulkes said: “International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900’s and the theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Better for Balance’.

“Balance drives a better working world and policing is a perfect example of this, where we seek to represent the communities we serve.

“Whilst there is still work to do, we are working hard to enhance equality for all within our organisation.

“Our workforce is made up of a diverse range of outstanding people who consistently perform in exceptional circumstances. The way in which we all embrace difference enables us to meet these extreme demands head on.

“I very much hope you will enjoy learning more about the various roles that are available within policing and learn more about some of the extraordinary people within our organisation.”
