Half term activities in Llangoed

There were spooky goings on in an Anglesey village during the half term break when youngsters involved the elderly in Halloween activities.
PCSO Natalie Tookey together with ‘Ffrindiau Llangoed’ arranged a series of events to occupy the youths of Llangoed throughout the holiday.
On Tuesday the group met in the community garden in Llangoed and conducted a village tidy up.
PCSO Tookey explained: “This encouraged them to respect their community.”
Then on Wednesday they met in the football club in Llangoed, and took part in a pumpkin carving session, before going to Haulfre residential care home, where the youngsters held a game of bingo for the elderly residents.
The residents then selected their favourite pumpkins, made by the youths, and these were used to decorate the residential home.
“We had a discussion on the importance of safety on Halloween and Bonfire night, and the youngsters shared what they had learnt with the residents of Haulfre.
“It was a good opportunity to engage with the children,” said PCSO Tookey, adding that all those involved were rewarded at the end of the week with a special Halloween party.
