Heating Oil theft Pwllheli


North Wales Police are asking the public’s assistance after thieves stole a large quantity of heating oil from the Morfa Nefyn area of Pwllheli recently.

Local Officer PC Gethin Jones said “Sometime between Monday 12th January and Saturday 14th March 2015 thieves have stolen a large quantity of heating oil from a storage tank at the rear of the Morfa Nefyn Community Centre Pwllheli.   A vehicle may well have been required to complete this offence and so I’d like to hear from anyone who has seen any suspicious vehicles or people in the area to contact Police.  We also like to hear from anyone who has any information which may assist us identify the thieves.”

PC Jones added , “Our advice to the community is to take extra care and ensure where possible locks are fitted,  check the amount of oil in the tank regularly,  be vigilant of any unusual vehicles parked close to homes or gardens and install security lighting to protect the area around the tank.  It is also very important to stress if you see any suspicious behaviour to let us know immediately”
