Police recover stolen goods after store burglary in Caernarfon.

Police investigating a recent burglary at Lifestyle Express, Pool Street, Caernarfon have recovered a large amount of cigarettes and tobacco following the arrest of two local men aged 29 and 50.

Sometime between 4:00am and 5:00am on Wednesday 5th November 2014 thieves broke into Lifestyle Express, Pool Street, Caernarfon and stole a substantial amount of cigarettes and National Lottery Scratch Cards .   Included in the haul were Sovereign, No.3, Sterling, Benson Gold, Benson Silver, Berkley, Silk Cut, Embassy No.1, Embassy Filter, Hamlet Cigars, Cutters Choice Tobacco, Gold Leaf & Amber Leaf.   The scratch cards stolen were Merry Millionaire, Bingo, Christmas Cracker, 7 x Lucky, Top Prize £100,000 and Bubble Burst Doubler.

Some items were recovered in the Love Lane and Chapel Street area of Caernarfon, however some remains outstanding.

Investigating officer DC Catrin Hughes at Caernarfon CID said, "This immediate and positive response demonstrates our commitment to investigate all offences thoroughly.   Despite property being recovered the investigation is still very much ongoing and so I’d appeal to anyone who has any information to make contact with us.  I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone being offered cheap cigarettes or scratch cards.

“Over recent months we have made positive in-roads in reducing crime in the area and I’m sure with the continued support and vigilance from the local community we can quickly identify those responsible.   If you witnessed this incident or have any information about who is responsible please contact Police on 101.  It is worth reminding all house holders and business owners to be vigilant at all times, always ensure your property is locked and secured and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact police immediately.”

Following interview both men were released on bail to allow officers time to complete their investigation.
