Police are renewing their appeal for information following the theft of the back of a cash machine from the Co-op store in Deganwy.
Detective Inspector Simon Kneale said: “We are keen to trace a light coloured estate type vehicle which was seen in the area of the offence and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles around ATM’s in the area during the early hours of Sunday morning.”
Police were alerted to the incident by a member of the public at 4.08am yesterday, Sunday 4th November, where offenders had gained entry into the premises, and the back of the cash machine had been removed. Sounds of an explosion were reported, and considerable damage was caused inside the store.
Det Insp Kneale added: “We believe the offenders used a Stihl saw to gain entry to the store and there was a report of a small explosion at the site.”
