Appeal following serious collision in Mallwyd

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a road traffic collision in Mallwyd, Gwynedd this morning (Friday, 14th September).

Shortly after 5am North Wales Police received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the A458 involving a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

Emergency services attended and the driver was cut free from the vehicle.

He was airlifted to hospital in Stoke with injuries that are described as life threatening.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision to contact officers. He said: “We are keen on speaking to any witnesses or anybody who may have been travelling along the A458 and who may have seen the white Sprinter van prior to the collision to contact us.

“Equally, we’d also like to speak to anybody who may have been travelling along the route around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage from their vehicles.”

Anybody who can assist the investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number W131286.
