Serious collision in Overton, Wrexham

Five people were taken to hospital last night (Tuesday, January 1st) following a serious road traffic collision in Overton, Wrexham.

Shortly after 10:30pm officers were informed of a one-vehicle collision on the A528 Salop Road involving a blue coloured Skoda Fabia.

As a result of the collision two females and three males who are aged in their late teens/early twenties; were all taken to hospital with serious injuries. Three were initially taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and two were taken to the Countess of Hospital in Chester.

One female has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke with serious life changing injuries and one male has been transferred to Walton Hospital with serious injuries.

Sergeant Stephen Richards of the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling along Salop Road around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”
