Myth... You have to be fluent in Welsh to join North Wales Police.
Fact... You will need to meet a certain level of Welsh ability, but it will depend on what role you’re applying for – very few roles need full fluency. We'll support you if you’re not confident, to help you reach the required level.
Myth... You can’t join the police if you’ve got dyslexia.
Fact... We embrace neuro diversity and actively seek to employ people living with dyslexia and other neurological conditions, such as autism or dyscalculia. Simply put, if you’re the right person for the job then we will work with your particular needs so that you can do it.
Myth... You can't join the police if you've got tattoos.
Fact... You can have tattoos, but we need to see them when you apply to make sure they meet our guidelines. Officers and staff can’t have tattoos that are offensive, garish or particularly prominent.
Myth... You have to be super fit.
Fact... While you do have to meet a certain level of fitness, we don't expect you to be Olympic standard. You can find out what the fitness test involves on this website.
